Will a new roof lower my insurance premium?

One of the biggest questions homeowners ask: is my premium going to go up? With the right roof, it can go down.

The form

It is called an Insurance Premium Reduction Request Form. Eric has one written for State Farm and a general version for any other carrier, and he hands it to you with your final invoice.

How much can it save?

Customers have seen reductions from about $150 up to $1,200 a year. The amount depends on the roof's slope and size and on your insurance company.

Class 3 vs. Class 4 from Malarkey

Highlander AR is Malarkey's Class 3 rubberized asphalt shingle; Vista AR is the Class 4. Both are impact, wind and algae resistant. A premium reduction is possible with either; Class 4 is the strongest case.

Why the brand matters

The Class 4 paperwork Scott 1 Roofing files is for Malarkey Class 4. A Class 4 shingle from GAF or CertainTeed is a different process.

Your warranty

50-year Malarkey material warranty plus a 10-year craftsmanship warranty. Eric registers it and it arrives in the mail within 90 days of completion.
